What is 2FA?

When signing in for the first time to Liquid, you will be prompted to set up to 2-factor authentication.

2FA or 2-factor authentication is a method we use to verify your identity. The process requires you to verify your Liquid login details as well as an authentication code you get on an app on your smart phone.

This is optional, but you will have to set up 2FA to deposit cryptocurrency or fiat into your Liquid account.

How to set up 2FA using Google Authenticator

Step 1

Download the Google Authenticator app to your phone (Google Play Store or Apple App Store).

Alternatively, you can use an authentication app like Microsoft Authenticator or Authy (Google Play Store or Apple App Store).

Step 2

Click Set Up 2FA as shown in the screenshot above, or hover your cursor over the user icon at the top right of Liquid dashboard and click Security.

Once in Security, click Enable 2FA Now.

Follow the instructions to set up 2FA using Google Authenticator :

  1. Open your Google Authenticator app.
  2. Scan QR Code with Google Authenticator (please scan the QR Code shown with Google Authenticator).
  3. Back up your secret code (please write down or print a copy of the 16-digit secret code and put it in a safe place incase you lose or break your device.
  4. Enter the 2-step verification code provided by your Authenticator.
  5. Click Enable.

Now, every time you log in to Liquid, you will need to enter the 6-digit code found under Liquid in the Authenticator app of your choice.

Remember, you will not be able to deposit funds (crypto or fiat) without 2FA enabled.
